The 33 works you can experience at the MediaLab are created by independent thinkers, featuring strong-willed characters, and most importantly, they’re made for kids who like to think for themselves! Being obedient and following the rules? Boring! This year at the MediaLab, you’re rewarded for sometimes not listening and choosing your own way.
In a world where we often mirror ourselves against others, it can be hard to truly be yourself. But what does it mean to be yourself? To walk your own path, make your own choices. To discover who you really are and to boldly embrace it. Stubborn? Or just in tune with your own mind!
Two new interactive art pieces were made within our Amarte x Cinekid Open Call MediaLab 2024: 'Help! There's a bear in my tent' by Marieke van der Burg and Leon van Oldenborgh and 'Nothing to see here' by Sander Veenhof.
In the MediaLab, children can experiment with innovative technologies such as augmented reality and artificial intelligence.
In this augmented reality game, you can help Anouschka discover her various cultural backgrounds and rediscover her passion for music. Like with Pokémon GO, you can walk around with your smartphone and play mini games, watch animations and hear stories. Along the way, you’ll find out who this girl from the Bijlmer neighbourhood is.
Take a look at the full team at the credits page of Ado Ato. Ado Ato founder Tamara Shogaolu talks about games that reconnect us during her keynote at the Cinekid Industry Forum at October 31st.
