The Junior Crew at Cinekid Festival!

So the Junior Crew helps organise Cinekid Festival, but how do they do it? The Junior Crew has been coming to the Cinekid office every other week for months before the festival starts to help, test, watch and design. What exactly do they do?

• They test and review games, apps and installations for the MediaLab.
• They watch films and series and help decide which films to show during the festival.
• They come up with ideas for fun activities to do during the free Outdoors programme.
  
• This year, the Junior Crew also helped design the festival badge.

On one of the days the Junior Crew visited Cinekid, they were tasked with making quirky drawings. And not just any drawings: these drawings were used to create the 2024 festival badge! How did that work?

First, they thought together about this year's theme: You do... you! What does that mean? When are you headstrong? Are they headstrong themselves? Together they went in search of examples and headstrong people. It's about doing something in your own way, not like others. For example, wearing clothes you like, doing what you like, and being yourself.

Then they started working with these questions and answers in their heads. They made drawings that were bundled together into a beautiful result! In total, as many as 1,000 badges with the Junior Crew design will be worn during the festival by the Cinekid crew and lots of professionals and guests.

Of course the Junior Crew will be present at Cinekid Festival 2024, as true VIPs! On Tuesday 29 October and Thursday 31 October, the Junior Crew will have a busy programme of films, awards and meet & greets!

On Tuesday 19 October, they will watch the film Flow, where they will experience an adventure in movement and creativity together. On Thursday, October 31, they will go to see Wacky Tales, a short film compilation that takes them into a crazy, imaginative world. The Game Award will also be presented on 31 October, chosen with the help of the Junior Crew. We will discover who is the winner of this exciting competition!
