Directors LAB

Cinekid Directors LAB is the ideal programme for talented, emerging directors who want to further develop their projects and bring their creative vision to life. If you have an exciting project in advanced development and are working on a shooting script, we’ll help you fine-tune your creation and confidently take the final steps prior to pre-production.

Directors LAB

What will you learn?

  • How to develop a shooting script
  • How to define and underline your own voice and style as a director
  • How to discover the maximum potential of a scene
  • How to direct actors: shift the focus to directing the character (not the actor) while guiding the actor through the specific world of the film
  • How to cast and direct child actors: establish a relationship of trust with the child or children and immerse yourself in their world, encouraging and guiding each child to develop their character

Who is it for?

You’re a director working on a feature-length film or series aimed at children. The project should be in advanced development, heading toward production, and a producer should be attached. You should have previous directing experience in children’s film or series, or films for adults, and want to further develop that experience.
