Tom is different from other kids. So he pretends going to stay with grandma and grandpa is a trip into space.
Why is Tom (10) wearing some kind of space suit? He’s only going to stay with grandma and grandad while his mother is away for four weeks, isn’t he? Tom is autistic, and ordinary things sometimes make him panic. But he’s also very clever. Pretending he’s going to Mars allows him to go stay somewhere different in this story full of love, humour and imagination.
