One day, when Pää has to stay home alone and wants something exciting to happen, it does, immediately: an enormous flood happens. The house starts floating, which marks the beginning of a crazed, adventurous journey across the water. Pää saves two birds in a nest, another child called Nif, and a polar bear who speaks ‘Whale’ and knows how to pilot a balloon.
Their experiences and meetings teach them about the consequences of major air and water pollution, as well as that it is always a good idea to be nice to people you meet. Ultimately, they run aground on an island built of rubbish where Captain Nemo helps them get them homeward bound. A witty, colourful and sometimes slightly absurd animation with a message that is however presented in an amusing way.
