You’ll follow, for example, a girl with vitiligo and a Black ballerina in a white dance world. In the thrilling Fort Buku, three friends venture into the Surinamese jungle and grow closer to their heritage. This special short film program includes works by adult filmmakers as well as teens. Their stop-motion films with spoken word were created during the Mi Tori project by Mirjam Marks. Combining voice and moving images, they search for their roots in powerful, creative ways.
