In Mi Tori, young people between the ages of 10 and 16 in Suriname and the Netherlands express their identity, culture and history through stop-motion and spoken word.
Mi Tori, which means "My Story" in Surinamese, is an art exchange project in which young people aged 10 to 16 in Suriname and the Netherlands express their identity, culture, and history through stop-motion animation and spoken word. They do this under the guidance of local artists.
Mi Tori is a collaboration between Museum Villa Zapakara in Paramaribo and Underdocs/Mirjam Marks in the Netherlands.
In Suriname, children from Pikin Slee and Galibi, and in and around Paramaribo, participated. In the Netherlands, the Arte College in Almere and De Jutter on Vlieland participated.
