Poli

After losing her mother, Ana drifts apart from her father. When a phenomena controller crashes on the surface, both father and daughter must reunite to help her return home before is too late.

After losing her mother, Ana feels the world has lost its colour. She lives with her father, a good man but obsessed with his scientific work that he has forgotten how to be truly present.

Deep inside the Earth, at the Terrestrial Control Centre, controllers operate the natural phenomena of the world. With their machines, they can make it rain, trigger an earthquake, or even cause a volcano to erupt. Poli, the assistant's assistant, is in charge of the most "insignificant" task: transforming the waste produced by the other controllers' machines into rainbows. One day, by accident, she crashes into Ana's life, and together they will build a bond that brings colour back to Ana&'s world.

On the surface, everything is a new discovery for Poli. Meanwhile, back at the TCC, no one knows how to do her job. Waste starts piling up to the ceiling, and with no one able to manage it, the natural order begins to collapse. To restore balance, Ana and her father Ricardo must rebuild their father and daughter relationship and return Poli to the Cosmic Control Centre before chaos takes over the world.

Directors statement

Our planet is but a speck of cosmic dust, sustained by unseen forces that keep the universe in balance. In Poli, I wanted to explore these invisible labours, those often dismissed as insignificant, and reveal their true value. Poli, the most colourful member of the Cosmic Control Center, is tasked with collecting waste and transforming it into rainbows. Her work may seem trivial to her peers, yet without her, the earth would collapse.

In parallel, Ana and her father Ricardo struggle to reconnect after the loss of Ana's mother. Their fractured relationship mirrors how society overlooks essential but invisible work. When Poli is accidentally transported to Earth, their worlds collide, forcing father and daughter to reconcile in order to help her return home.

This story is, at its core, about reconciliation between family members, between humanity and the unseen forces that sustain us, and between the visible and invisible forms of labour that shape our lives. Through fantasy and vibrant imagery, Poli reflects on fragility, responsibility, and the healing power of art. Like the rainbow, art may appear unnecessary, but it has the power to fill our souls with meaning and connection.

My vision is to create a film that blends humour, action, and heart, while delivering a universal message: it is often the invisible hands, the overlooked tasks, and the quiet resilience that hold our world together.
