MediaLab (low-stimulus)
On Wednesday 22 October, you can visit a special low-stimulus version of a large part of the MediaLab.
Discover new technologies such as AI, VR and AR. Take part in cool workshops, play the latest games and build your own digital artworks.
Practical information
From 10:00 to 11:00 AM, almost half of the MediaLab (the third floor of Pathé Amsterdam Noord) is only accessible to people with a ticket for the low-stimulus time slot. A maximum of 15 children and parents will be present in total. After 11:00 AM, the third floor will open to regular visitors.
From 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, we will ensure a calmer atmosphere across the entire third floor: the lights will be dimmed, there will be no flashing images on the screens, and the sound of the games will be turned down.
If you want to, you can take the elevator from downstairs that goes directly to the third floor to avoid the crowds of the rest of the festival.
Fun for after the event: On Wednesday 22 October at 11:30 AM, there will be a low-stimulus screening of Space Cadet, a touching 3D animated film without dialogue.
About the MediaLab
Travel through time in the Cinekid MediaLab 2025! From knights to robots and from dinosaurs to digital animals, this year the MediaLab is all about timetravel! How does the past live on in us? What have previous generations left us and what will we pass on when the time comes?
Zip and zap from now to then and far into the future in the 30 works in the MediaLab. Embrace robots, philosophise about e-waste with an AI-host and make your own time capsule. ARe you ready for a journey through time?
In the MediaLab children can experiment with innovative technology such as augmented reality and artifical intelligence. They can participate in workshops where they can create their own digital stories and works of art. In addition, they can play the latest and coolest games and discover different forms of interactive art. Especially for the youngest there is the MiniLab, where they can discover digital creativity in a playful way.
