Cinekid Schools Programme

What is the Cinekid Schools Programme?

The Schools Programme immerses your class in the fascinating world of film and media. Your pupils will experience educational film screenings at Pathé Amsterdam Noord and boost their learning thanks to film-specific teaching material and interactive programmes. In the MediaLab, your pupils can get hands-on in workshops, play video games, and discover VR experiences.

About the film screenings

Cinekid is always on the lookout for films that will inspire your pupils. During Cinekid Festival, you and your class choose one feature-length film or a film compilation to watch at Pathé Amsterdam Noord. Each screening is preceded or followed by an interactive programme: for example you and your class could meet a director or discover how sounds effects are made for films!

About the MediaLab

The MediaLab introduces school pupils to the latest media and lets them get creative. They can get hands-on in workshops, explore the world of VR and AI, and discover brand-new games and digital art.

Who is the Cinekid Schools Programme for?

The Schools Programme is for all primary school pupils, pupils with special educational needs, and first or second-year secondary school pupils. Cinekid puts together a programme for each group of pupils, tailored to their age and development.

Please note that the Cinekid Schools Programme takes place in Amsterdam. If you would prefer to visit a location closer to your school, please send an e-mail to educatie@cinekid.nl. Our Education team would be happy to help you.

Cinekid teaching material

Cinekid’s free teaching material lets you go into more depth before or after your film screening or MediaLab visit. The material ties in seamlessly with pupils’ learning in media literacy, citizenship skills, and critical viewing skills. Turn your pupils into engaged audience members by discussing the film’s themes prior to the screening.
