Bequests to Cinekid
Cast your mind back to the first time you entered a cinema: lowering yourself into that plush cinema seat, surrounded by the background chit-chat of the audience. Your eyes are fixated on the big screen, eager to see the first scene. As soon as it begins, the cinema and visitors fade into the background – it’s just you and the film. For many people, that first cinema experience is a source of vivid, happy memories. A bequest to Cinekid will help us to give even more children access to that same, life-changing film experience.

Children are naturally inquisitive and open-minded. Cinekid wants to keep that perspective alive while encouraging children’s creativity and curiosity about other people’s perspectives. We do that by offering high-quality on-screen stories and a fun-focused programme.
Hopeful perspective
We put together a programme that children can relate to. This gives them the ability and confidence to be themselves, connect with others, and develop a hopeful perspective on themes in their own life and wider society. This is hugely important in the times we’re living in, where children are confronted with poverty, social inequality, climate change, war, and ever-changing media.
Bequests to Cinekid
If you would like to make a bequest to Cinekid, you may ask a notary to lay this down in your will (Cinekid cannot accept a handwritten statement on its own).
You can name Cinekid in your will in two ways: as the recipient of a bequest, or as your beneficiary or co-beneficiary.
Bequest
A bequest is a clause in your will. It concerns a gift of a set amount of money, property, or a clearly defined part of your inheritance that will be given to a person or institution upon your death.
Naming beneficiaries
You can name one or several beneficiaries in your will. These could be people, organizations, or a combination of both. This means that you can name Cinekid as a beneficiary alongside your family, next of kin, and friends. If they accept your inheritance, these beneficiaries, or co-beneficiaries, are then assigned all their rights and obligations as such. If you have several beneficiaries, you can determine what percentage of your inheritance each beneficiary or co-beneficiary will receive.
Cinekid is exempt from inheritance tax
As Cinekid is a Dutch Public Benefit Organization, it is exempt from inheritance tax. As a result, Cinekid receives the full amount of your bequest.
