Cinekid opens the celebratory fortieth anniversary edition on Wednesday afternoon 7 October with the new season of KABAM!.

The first series of KABAM! was voted Best Dutch Fiction Series at Cinekid Festival in 2021. A year later, the producer and broadcaster accepted an Emmy Award in New York in the category Best Kids: Live Action. Following the successful first season, the toddler series KABAM! is back with a new series of adventurous episodes. In the classroom of teacher Mo, the children help each other to overcome their fears with great imagination. This series is not only funny and creative, but reaches parents and teachers alongside a young audience. Adults can use the series as a starting point for conversations about emotions, social relationships and things children worry about. The series therefore has both an educational and pedagogical function, and is in line with the inclusive and social engagement that Cinekid also stands for.
Have you ever been scared? Your heart pounding and your legs trembling? The children in teacher Mo's (Idriss Nabil) class certainly have. Of going to the dentist, for example, of looking foolish at school, or sleeping over at a friend's house. Luckily, they all have a rich imagination to help them through it. This second season of KABAM! is once again packed with relatable fears.
The same creators, producer and broadcaster have made the second series. Elisabeth Hesemans once again takes charge of the direction, and Lilian Sijbesma and Floor Paul wrote the screenplay. The series is produced by IJswater Films and KRO-NCRV, this time with co-producers De Mensen and VRT Ketnet. KABAM! was made possible in part by the NPO Fund, NPO Zappelin, the Flemish Audiovisual Fund, and the Belgian Tax Shelter.
The autumn school holidays begin on Saturday 10 October in the North. The Cinekid Schools Programme takes place the week prior to the autumn school holidays in Amsterdam.
