Cinekid goes for own inflatable cinema
Amsterdam, December 19, 2023 - For two editions, Cinekid Festival brought the world's only existing inflatable cinema to the Netherlands. With this, thousands of children in Amsterdam were able to learn about films for free during the festival and expand their window on the world. To reach more children, throughout the Netherlands, and because of sustainability, Cinekid started a crowdfunding on voordekunst to have its own inflatable cinema made.
Renting the cinema annually is costly and unsustainable. In addition, the cinema could only be used in a limited period of time; during and prior to the festival. Because this traveling movie theater is such a great success, Cinekid has now decided to have its own inflatable cinema made. This will allow the festival to reach more children on location more often in the coming years. At community centers, schools, shopping malls and playgrounds. Especially for children who, for whatever reason, cannot go to the cinema. Cinekid will also have its own screening location for the first time in its history.
This special project costs a lot of money, which is why Cinekid started a crowdfunding campaign via Voordekunst. With the help of the public, the festival organization wants to raise the additional 15 thousand euros needed in the coming weeks. So that already next spring the own Cinekid inflatable cinema can be seen in neighborhoods throughout the Netherlands.
