Get up to speed with all the children’s film and media trends during the leading industry event for professionals, live in Amsterdam. The event will take place on 31 October.
Cinekid Industry Forum 2024 invites the professionals from film and digital media to engage with discussions around the festivals empowering theme You do you. On October 31, the one-day interactive conference aims to explore innovative storytelling that celebrates diversity, individuality, and self-expression.
A highlight of the event is the opening keynote by anthropologist Rikke Flodin, who will present findings from the groundbreaking research project Keeping Up with Children as an Audience. Based on insights from 374 children across Europe, Flodin will reveal what young viewers value most in film and media, offering ten practical questions to guide creators in producing relevant and up to date content for kids.
The day will conclude with a visionary presentation by new media artist Tamara Shogaolu, whose interdisciplinary practice gives a platform to the urgent stories of marginalized voices. Her closing keynote titled Glitching the Real: Games That Reconnect Us will explore how gaming can transcend mere distraction to restore our connection with the world.
In addition to the keynotes, the Forum will feature 10 thematic tables with over 30 expert speakers covering critical industry topics. Multiple case studies of films, games, and immersive projects will provide deeper connections with the creators whose works are showcased during Cinekid. With opportunities to participate in table talks and networking, the Cinekid Industry Forum 2024 encourages creators to push boundaries and, most importantly, be themselves.
