Who can submit?
In light of Cinekid’s mission to amaze, entertain, connect and contribute to the development of children into independent, conscious and well-thinking global citizens, we welcome submissions from filmmakers and industry professionals of all nationalities who support our mission and values. We look forward to receiving and considering films and projects from all over the world, and to connecting with artists and professionals from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds.

Films can enter the following competitions: Best Children's Film Competition, Best Dutch Children's Film Competition, Best International Short Film Competition and Best Dutch Short Film Competition.
We are looking for innovative and high-quality films and episodic productions for children up to 14 years of age, with a preference for those that tackle social issues or stimulate creative thinking. Please carefully read our selection criteria and guidelines before submitting your work.

For the Cinekid Script LAB, we accept series and feature film projects in development that are either live-action, animation or documentary and can benefit of a tailor-made trajectory under the guidance of specialized coaches. Entry regulations of the Cinekid Script LAB can be found on this page.
Cinekid Directors LAB
Submissions will open on 1 November 2024.
For the Cinekid Directors LAB, we accept series and feature film projects in late development for a tailor-made programme focussed on the necessary steps prior to pre-production. The LAB is open to live-action, animation and documentary projects, and the regulations can be found on this page.
Junior Co-production Market

We accept feature films and episodic content (live-action, animation and documentary) in development, as well as works-in-progress from all over the world. During the Junior Co-production Market, four awards will be handed out: the Council of Europe Series Co-production Award (€50.000), the Eurimages Co-production Development Award (€20.000), the PUBLIKUM Audience Awareness Award (€9.000) and the Filmmore Post-production Award (€5.000).

MediaLab

Games for MediaLab

Cinekid invites international artists, designers, studios and agencies to submit games for the upcoming MediaLab and for consideration of the Game Award 2024. A selection of makers will get the opportunity to showcase their projects at Cinekid Festival 2024. The selection will be made by a professional panel and from this selection, an all-kids jury will select the winning entry. The winner receives a Cinekid Lion and a cheque of €2.500.
