Here's our restructured industry programme

We have redefined the Cinekid for Professionals programme for the 2019 edition, taking place from 21 – 25 October in Amsterdam.

The Junior Co-production Market (JCM), the integrated two-day co-production market that enables financiers, broadcasters & producers to assess new and innovative children's projects across the film and television sectors, has changed dates. On Tuesday 22 October, the selected projects will pitch in front of all attending professionals, which is followed by one-to-one meetings in the afternoon, and on Wednesday 23 October all day.

Additionally, Cinekid has added a Work in Progress section to the Junior Co-production Market. Producers can pitch their works-in-progress for that last gap. Parallel to the pitch and pre-scheduled meetings, they have the opportunity to screen their works and invite fellow professionals to the screening to receive feedback or to attract potential partners. Projects that pitched at Cinekid before are welcome to submit their project for this new section again!

Besides the Eurimages Co-production Development Award (€20.000) for the best eligible film project in the Junior Co-production Market, Cinekid installed a new prize in the market from 2019 onwards: the Best TV Project worth €10.000. This prize goes out to the best episodic project. The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday 23 October at the end of the day.

Further to it, this year Cinekid will programme special industry screenings for the attending industry, which can be easily accessed solely with your badge.

The Industry Forum (formerly known as the Professionals Conference), is the one-day must-attend international event for everyone interested in children’s media. Participants discuss issues of burning relevance and debate the future of the industry with experts in the field. The Industry Forum had a successful first edition in its reshaped form last year; therefore, the further improved set-up will continue. Keynotes will be followed by breakout sessions on specifically themed tables. The Forum will take place on Thursday 24 October. Themes and speakers are to be confirmed throughout the summer.

As proven successful last year, we will broaden the opening times of the ScreeningClub, our digital sales library with over 400 recent children’s film and TV productions. The ScreeningClub will be accessible for accredited guests from 19 October until 8 November online, and from 21 until 25 October the video library is available on site at Cinekid Festival.
